Every October, we come together to shine a light on breast cancer awareness—a cause that touches millions of lives around the world. Breast cancer is the most common cancer in women, but with early detection, education, and support, survival rates continue to improve.

1 in 8 women in the United States will be diagnosed with breast cancer in her lifetime. In 2025, an estimated 316,950 women and 2,800 men will be diagnosed with invasive breast cancer, and an additional 59,080 new cases of non-invasive (in situ) breast cancer will be diagnosed. Chances are, you know at least one person who has been personally affected by breast cancer.

Breast Cancer Awareness Month is about action. It’s a reminder to schedule mammograms, perform self exams and encourage loved ones to know their risk factors. It’s about supporting those currently battling breast cancer, honoring survivors, and remembering those we have lost.

Advances in research, treatment, and prevention are giving hope to families every day. But the fight is not over. Raising awareness, sharing stories, and supporting research efforts are crucial steps in making a difference.

This October, take time to educate yourself and others, support community events, and spread the message: Early detection saves lives.

When caught in its earliest, localized stages, the 5-year relative survival rate for breast cancer is 99%. But what is early detection? Early detection means finding breast cancer at an early stage, before it has a chance to spread and is easier to treat.

Together, we can make a difference. By raising awareness, supporting research, and encouraging early detection, we take meaningful steps toward a future where breast cancer is no longer a threat to our mothers, sisters, daughters, friends, and even the men in our lives. This October, let’s stand united in hope, action, and compassion. Join our team in Sarasota and be part of the movement—because every step, every voice, and every effort brings us closer to saving lives.
